Bradfield is a great place to raise a family and retire, but with over 50 aged care facilities, the quality and accessibility of services are critical. Many residents are supporting ageing parents and navigating a system under strain. 

The new Aged Care Act implements 58 of the 148 recommendations made by the Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety, and I share many of your concerns about capped fees, enforcement, and service quality. I'm advocating for stronger oversight, improved home care options, and better funding to ensure dignity and high-quality care for our seniors. 

Where I've focused 

Aged care by algorithm. With crossbench colleagues, I've challenged the automated system used to assess aged care packages. Decisions about someone's care should not be made by a process that nobody can see inside or question, and the people affected are often those least able to contest them. 

Support at Home. I made a submission to the inquiry into the Support at Home program. Most people want to stay in their own homes, and the program has to work properly for that to be possible. 

Veterans' allied health. I wrote to the Government about the allied health services cap for Veteran Card holders. 

Practical help, locally. I produced a Guide to Government Services for Seniors, free to anyone in Bradfield, and ran a scam awareness event for older residents. You can download that here.
